Santa Fe by John DennyThe Santa Fe
Over Raton Pass

Owner: John Denny
Scale: HO

John’s layout featured one of the most challenging and famous of all railroad grades, the Raton Pass. The time period was the early 1950s and famous trains including the Super Chief and El Capitan generate revenue for the Santa Fe. Numerous freight trains, usually requiring helpers to conquer the 3.4% grade, made their way over the pass as well.

The railroad featured over 400 feet of mainline and branch line challenges. Operating positions included mainline, branchline, and yard engineers. Many of the locomotives featured sound and Digitrax DCC is used for train control.

Although the Santa Fe has moved away along with it's owner, we will all remember the Santa Fe as it traversed the Raton Pass.

The final session on the Santa Fe. Good Luck in Colorado John!
